| As lifelong academics, we have spent most of our time teaching students how to excel and survive in their chosen fields. Our academic positions, though, require that we also maintain a high profile in research activities.
Our philosophy at MediaBuffs is that our research and teaching activities complement one another. Research for research's sake may be nice, but its value increases significantly when it can be made relevant for students. Furthermore, it can be equally argued that our teaching interests provide the inspiration for much of our research. We are thus caught in a healthy spiral, one element feeding the other ad infinitum.

It is by researching what we teach that we keep our classes current and engaging for students, regardless of whether the class is held in a traditional classroom or online. With our research focus on theory and the practical applications thereof, we are able to bring to life otherwise difficult subject material. Our diverse interests, plus those of our associates, ensure that we will have an interesting array of projects in progress...projects that will ultimately benefit our students as well as practitioners. |
